Skill & Play-Up Assessments are Rescheduled to 4/12
In an effort to ensure no further delays with our Spring/Summer Season, the WYBSL has rescheduled the Skill and Play-Up Assessments to April 12 with some important changes:
Play-Ups
- If you registered a 6-year-old and are currently on the WYBSL Play-Up list for the 8U Coach Pitch league, these players will automatically be placed in the requested 8U Coach Pitch league for the
Spring/Summer 2025 season. - The WYBSL reserves the right to evaluate any play-up participant at any time, before or during the season, to ensure the safety of all participants in the league. If parents are not entirely confident of their daughter or son’s ability to Play-Up, we recommend staying in the Co-Ed Tee-Ball II league this spring.
- For those Play-Up players currently registered to play-up to 10U Baseball/Softball, 12U Baseball/Softball, 14U Baseball or 17U Softball, you still must attend and pass the mandatory Play-Up assessment to play in the desired league.
Skill Assessments
- For those players registered in 10U Baseball/Softball, 12U Baseball/Softball, 14U Baseball, the WYBSL holds a Skill Assessment. These leagues use a player draft system, where coaches select players who
attend the Skill Assessments. For additional specific information on the Player Assessments, please click here.
Location/Schedule Changes
- For those Play-up and Skill Assessments noted above, we will be moving to DBAT Columbus’ indoor facility:

Online registration opened 1/31/25 and the regular registration deadline is March 17. There is still space in many leagues – don’t wait, space is filling up – register today!

Lindsay’s Law
Started in 2018, an Ohio law requires the WYBSL to provide information to all parents/guardians, players and coaches regarding the incidence of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). Additionally, parents/guardians and players wishing to play in the WYBSL must read the handout, watch a required Ohio Department of Health (ODH) video – and sign an acknowledgement form as part of online registration.
Coaches must also read the SCA handout, watch the ODH video and sign an acknowledgement form as part of their volunteer registration as well.

Concussion Certification
All official head and assistant coaches must complete the free, online concussion training as required by Ohio Law. Read more and take the training.
PARENTS – if you son or daughter was removed from a practice or game as the result of a possible concussion, you must have your physician/care provider complete and sign a medical clearance form and submit it to your coach.
Sign up for Monthly On Deck e-Letters
After you register your child, you’ll automatically begin to receive On Deck, our new E-Letter, sent to the e-mail address you listed as “primary” on your registration form. On Deck is emailed monthly starting in February through September with up-to-date information and changes about the League.
