Umpire Coordination Volunteers

Each year, the WYBSL Umpire Director and Coordinators are responsible for the training, scheduling and review of umpires for more than 1,200 games.

Position:  Umpire Coordinators
Works With:  Umpire Director
Number of Volunteers Needed:  2 in the Spring; 2 in the Fall
Time Required:

• 1-4 Hours per week (May-July)
• 1-4 Hours per week (August-October)

Position Description:

• Help to schedule and review umpire activity for either the Boys’ Baseball or Girls’ Softball division
• Help schedule umpire coverage for make-up games and special activities.

Skill or Other Requirements: None; training will be provided

Position:  Umpire Recruiting Volunteer
Works With:  Umpire Director
Number of Volunteers Needed:  2
Time Required:

• 4-6 Hours per month from February through August

Position Description:

• Help in the continuous effort to solicit and train new umpires for WYBSL – through advertisements, posters and other recruiting methods; assist with umpire training and other projects.

Skill or Other Requirements:  Previous umpiring experience helpful, but not necessary; training will be provided
