The WYBSL schedules over 700 games each season using the following classification of Umpires by league level:
In Tee-Ball and Coach-Pitch leagues adult volunteers are asked to count pitches, call foul balls and safe/out at bases. Please speak to your coach to help out!
All umpires must complete concussion training.
Become a “Blue” – Contact our Umpire Director at umpires@wybsl.org if you’re interested in umpiring!
Each year, hundreds of dedicated volunteers help the WYBSL operate our program. No matter how little or much time you have available and no matter what skills or passion you have – we have place on our roster for you! Some areas of service you might consider:
League Coordinators: Work with the Program Director to ensure communication between the league and coaches is clear and efficient. Coordinate uniform and equipment distribution, ensure schedules are shared in a timely manner, and generally be a conduit between teams and coaches and the league. Please email the respective Program Director (softball@wybsl.org / baseball@wybsl.org) for more info.
Concession Captains: The WYBSL operates concession services at Huber Village, Metzger and Towers Park to help busy parents get food and drinks conveniently during scheduled games. Training is provided and duties include opening/closing the trailers, cooking, taking inventory and stocking. A friendly, service oriented personality is required! Concession Captains must be at least 18 years old and start earning $12 per hour. Please contact our Concessions Director at food@wybsl.org for more information.
Field Crew: Help check field conditions on weekends for make-up games. Work with the Fields Director to prepare fields for All Star Saturday and other special events. Contact our Fields Director at fields@wybsl.org for more info.
Equipment Crew: Assist the Equipment Director in organizing inventory, preparing team bags and maintaining field boxes throughout the season! Email our Equipment Director at equip@wybsl.org for more details.
Fall Ball Committee: Volunteers looking to learn and help the league in important operations – and possible greater, future responsibility – are encouraged to explore this opportunity. Help with registration, team selection, scheduling or day-to-day operations throughout the fall season.
No matter how much or how little time you have, we have a roster spot for you on our team. Contact hr@wybsl.org to learn more!
