Special Events Volunteers

Each year, WYBSL schedules several special events and activities for our participants – Anniversary events, clinics, All-Star Saturday, the 4th of July parade and others.

Here is a sampling of volunteer opportunities working with our Special Events Director on these fun activities. If you’re interested in helping with one or more tasks, please click on the link below and:

Position:  MLB Baseball Pitch, Hit and Run Competition Volunteer
Works With:  Special Events Director
Number of Volunteers Needed:  8-10
Time Required:

  • PHR Day – May 11, 2013

Position Description:

  • Assist with setting up and conducting the annual competition for young people from 7 to 14 years old.

Skill or Other Requirements: None; training will be provided

Position:  All-Star Saturday Volunteer Group
Works With:  Special Events Director
Number of Volunteers Needed:  10-25
Time Required:

  • 6-10 Hours during on All Star Saturday

Position Description:

  • Help to decorate, set up and coordinate the needs and equipment and assist with the activities of the day at Highlands and Huber Village Parks.

Skill or Other Requirements:  None; training will be provided

Position:  July 4th Parade Committee Chairperson or Volunteer
Works With:  Special Events Director
Number of Volunteers Needed:

  • 1 Chairperson and 6-10 Members

Time Required:

  • Variable to prepare for the Parade
  • Organize and participate in Parade on July 4th

Position Description:

  • Helps decide the extent and manner of WYBSL participation
  • Publicizes the event to our teams, coaches and families and encourages participation
  • Designs and builds a float and/or decorates vehicles (if applicable)
  • Order candy or other items for distribution during the parade
  • Helps to stage our participants and participates in the parade

Skill or Other Requirements: None; training will be provided

Make-Up Schedules

Make-up games, when necessary, will be reflected in the game schedules. Schedules will be updated by Friday mornings throughout the season.
