Public Relations Volunteers

It’s a big job to let area families know about WYBSL programs and keep the community aware of League activities – through newsletters, brochures, local newspapers, signs, and other forms of communication. WYBSL volunteers have many opportunities to help in our public relations effort.

Position:  Registration Publicity
Works With:  Public Relations Director
Number of Volunteers Needed:  2-4
Time Required:

• 2-4 Hours per week in February
• 2-4 Hours per week in July (Fall Ball)

Position Description:

• Help put out “yard signs” for spring/fall registration
• Help distribute brochures to schools and daycares (spring only)

Help when your schedule allows!

Position:  Social Media Manager
Works With:  Public Relations Director
Number of Volunteers Needed:  1-2
Time Required:

• 1-2 Hours per week during the season
• 1 hour per month between seasons

Position Description:

• Help develop and implement social media strategies using Facebook and Twitter to share league communications with participants and their families
• Post, manage and monitor social media accounts

Skill or Other Requirements:  Hands-on experience with Facebook and/or Twitter

Position:  E-Letter Designer & Editor
Works With:  Public Relations Director
Number of Volunteers Needed:  1-2
Time Required:

• 1-2 Hours per month during the seasons

Position Description:

• Help re-design On Deck – WYBSL’s monthly e-letter
• Help write and edit the monthly e-letter during the spring and fall seasons

Skill or Other Requirements:  Copywriting, experience with Constant Contact or similar e-marketing applications.
