The WYBSL conducts different types of player assessments based upon league of play.
- Play-Up Assessments: MANDATORY for those who registered to play in an “older” age division league.
- Skill Assessments: are not mandatory but participation is strongly encouraged. These assessments are conducted to help balance team selection either by draft or staff assignment.
Please see important details and additional information (specifically regarding interscholastic athletes and those who played in the WYBSL last spring) here.
Please see the WYBSL newsletter calendar for dates, times and locations and remember to call the Weather Hotline (614-523-6220) in case of marginal weather on assessment day.
“ON DECK” E-LETTER
WYBSL distributes monthly editions of On-Deck during the regular season. Click the links below to see current/previous issues:
Started in 2018, an Ohio law requires the WYBSL to provide information to all parents/guardians, players and coaches regarding the incidence of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). Additionally, parents/guardians and players wishing to play in the WYBSL must read the handout, watch a required Ohio Department of Health (ODH) video – and sign an acknowledgement form that must be returned to the league before participation.
Coaches must also read the SCA handout, watch the ODH video and sign an acknowledgement form.
If you’re using our on-line registration application you can sign the acknowledgement form within the application.
Please visit the ODH website to access this information and forms.
CONCUSSION CERTIFICATION / CLEARANCE
All official head and assistant coaches must complete the free, online concussion training as required by Ohio Law. Read more and take the training.
PARENTS – if you son or daughter was removed from a practice or game as the result of a possible concussion, you must have your physician/care provider complete and sign a medical clearance form and submit it to your coach.
After you register your child, you’ll automatically begin to receive On Deck, our new E-Letter, sent to the e-mail address you listed as “primary” on your registration form. On Deck is planned to be a regular service sent each month or so with up-to-date information and changes about the League. Click HERE if you wish to receive On Deck or have it sent to an additional e-mail address.
